OHBC Kids

A Place to Explore & Adventure through God’s Word!

We offer both Sunday School from 9-10am & Children’s Church during a regular Sunday church service.

*COVID has caused us to think outside the box in equipping our kids, for more info on this contact our Children's Ministry Director Chelsea Moorman at chelseaohbcatx@gmail.com

What to expect...

OHBC Kids is a safe place where we teach God’s Word in a fun, relevant, and applicable way. We want children to fall in love with Jesus, desire to know His Word, and begin to look at life through a biblical worldview. So, we are committed to providing an environment where kids can learn about the Bible, memorize scripture, worship, learn to live in community, and live out their faith throughout the week. We have and will continue to be very effective at discipling our young kids by meeting your child at their specific age and stage of life, so that they can really get the message.

Sunday School and Children's Church differences

Sunday School is a more in-depth study of scripture, while Children’s Church is an interactive teaching of God’s Word. Both are designed to compliment each other in training your kids to think and love and live biblically!

WHAT GOES ON IN YOUR CHILD’S CLASS?

EXPLORE CLASSES (NURSERY-PRESCHOOL):

You will check in your kids in the middle building at the kids check-in table and walk them to their classroom. In our nursery, toddler and preschool classroom children have a blast with song activities that introduce and reinforce the teaching of scripture. We walk alongside them as the explore knowing Jesus! After church service, you will pick your child up at the door of their classroom with your claim tag. Hang on to your security tag if your child is attending Sunday School and/or Children’s Church. You will need it to pick your child up from one or both.

ADVENTURE CLASSES (PREK-5TH GRADE):

Our elementary students also check-in at the kids check-in table in the middle building. If they are attending Sunday School you will walk them to their classroom and then pick them up after Sunday School from their classroom with your claim tag. For Children’s Church, you will check your child in if you haven’t already and then they join parents for worship at the beginning of the service. This provides kids the opportunity to experience "big church" and make worship a part of the family. The pastor will release the children to their teachers after worship who will then escort them to their classroom for a time of Bible teaching, small group discussion, and games/crafts that help them apply the teaching of Scripture to their lives.

The safety of your children is a high priority. All of our volunteers have been thoroughly screened and background checked. When you check in your children at the OHBC Kids check-in table (in the middle building) there you will receive a claim tag with a code that will match your child's tag. You may walk them to their classroom when you drop them off (or to the adult worship area if they are in elementary). When you pick them up, you will hand your claim tag to a children’s worker at the door of their classroom and they will get your child and bring them to you. If you misplace your tag, be sure to have your ID handy.

Also, we don’t provide snacks due to the risk of food allergies/preferences. We want to help all parents feel comfortable and keep kids safe.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
June 15-18

This year Oak Hill Bible Church will be hosting VBS! We can’t wait to journey through Mystery Island with your kids (Kindergarten-5th grade) as we track down the one true God and learn all about who He is! We will help your kids engage and discover just who He is with teaching, songs, crafts, games, snacks and so much more. Get ready for a time of fun and excitement from the top of your sun-soaked head to the tips of your sandy toes!

VBS can't happen without a huge team of volunteers and all hands on deck! Please register to volunteer and have a blast serving and loving on the next generation! (Volunteers will be thoroughly screened and background checked). We would love junior helpers (middle & high school students) to come alongside our adult volunteers. Childcare will be provided for infants & toddlers of volunteers only.

For more information, to register your kids, and to volunteer please visit: OHBC VBS REGISTRATION.  You won’t want to miss this!
