Sola Scriptura - Scripture Alone
Sola Scriptura or Scripture alone - Scripture as “God-breathed” and ”Spirit-guided” is true, it trustworthy, has been preserved for us, and is always the sole rule and authority of the church, as it expresses the very heart, mind, and will of our Triune God.(2 Timothy 3:14-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Numbers 23:11, Jeremiah 10:10, Psalm 19:7-11, 119)
Sola Gratia - Grace Alone
Sola Gratia - Grace is the foundation of how any creature relates to the Triune God. Grace, called divine generosity, undeserved favor, or unmerited divine intervention, is our only hope for right relationship with our Creator. Gods Grace toward the sinner caused the Son to take on skin and flesh all the way to the cross and resurrection. We believe everything in the Christian life is predicated on grace extended to us. Common grace given to all creatures beckoning all living things to declare the glory of God, air to breathe, water to drink, food to eat. Saving grace given to God’s people enabling them to place their trust in Christ alone. Grace is a divine gift, without which, the sinner will never be saved.(Ephesians 2:8-10, Psalm 19:1-6, Genesis 6:1-8)
Sola Fide - Faith Alone
Sola Fide - Faith alone: By this we cling to the many promises from God that by trusting in Him alone in the person of Jesus the Messiah, we are reconciled to Him both judicially as a citizen and relationally as sons and daughters. We repudiate anything added to the gospel of grace as the apostle Paul did. The message of new creation is always by grace through faith, so that no person may boast before the Lord.(Ephesians 2:8-10, John 3:16-21, Genesis 15:6)
Sola Christus - Christ Alone
Solus Christus - Christ alone : We treasure Christ above all else as the sole object of saving faith. Obedience to Him is how we glorify God. Walking in the Spirit teaches us to live like Him, being molded and shaped to look and act and think more like Him. He is the only mediator between God and man. He is the Lord of all creation. He is the perfect God and man together. He was born of the Virgin Mary. He is the fulfilment of prophecy. He is coming again for His church. He is coming to earth to rule from Jerusalem. He has no equal on this earth or in this cosmos. No pope, no angel, no spirit being, no clergy can command Him and no human can stand in His presence unless He grants them the ability. He is very God of very God. He is the head of the church as He governs through His Word and the Spirit. (Matthew 1-3, Colossians 1:13-22, John 20:28, Mark 12, Revelation 20, 1Thess. 4:18, John 14:1-6)
Sola De Gloria - God's Glory Alone
We treasure first that God is a plural unity, a trinity of persons in one being. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We are trinitarians. We love and enjoy the Triune God as being active in relationship to us beautifully and purposefully in all good things. As the Creator of all things, perfect in power, wisdom, goodness, beauty, relationship, love, justice, wrath, mercy, grace, and goodness, we cling to the truth that we are not the most important person in the “room” or in the “world”, or much less the universe. HE IS. We exist for Him. We exist to worship and enjoy Him, to have a relationship to Him and to live in obedience to Him alone. His glory is our focus and the focus of all of human history. Our redemption is important, but only as it relates to the glorious worship of the One true and living God. We will not bow a knee to any human in worship, no matter the cost. (Genesis 1:1,2, Genesis 1:26,27, Isaiah 40:13,14,21,25,28,29, 43:7, Philippians 2:8-11,Matthew 28:18-20)
Imago Dei - Image of God
There are two more very important truths we ask all partners to hold to.
1. The image of God in humanity: We cherish this truth as part of God‘s good design. Specifically, Male and Female are the only two biblically warranted genders, Male to female is the only biblically warranted marriage union, and every human regardless of age from the unborn to the elderly deserves to live before God until He takes them off this planet. Every human being bears the image of God as His unique creation, this means all people have intrinsic value and worth as being human. This also means we must reject any ideology that seeks to devalue any other person on the basis of race, ethnicity, IQ, contribution to society, etc. We are all one race...human. (Genesis 1 and 2, Galatians 3:28, Romans 1:19 - 32)
Humanity is not the way it is supposed to be..
2. The rebellion of humanity: Although not joyful to talk about, we believe that mankind is not the way they are suppose to be. We call this sin. Sin has many nuances in the biblical text, and the picture that is painted is not good. In fact, it is evil, rebellious, chaotic, divided, ugly, sad, hopeless, violent, unrepentant, uncaring, uncontrollable, and self centered. This is idolatry in a word.
It is not difficult to see the effects of sin on the creation, as it is under a curse, and on every living thing on the planet...because it dies. Death is the outcome of sin, not of God’s living creation. Sin is cosmic, affecting and effecting every nook and cranny of this universe. As a result, humans don't see clearly, think clearly, act rightly, believe reasonably, treat each other kindly, have the right motives, and certainly can not worship the One true God. Sin ruins everything, and humans cant educate our ways out of it, we can move away from it, we cant escape it with drugs or alcohol or money or sex or power or good works. Our only hope for life and in death, for sin to not get the last word is the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.( Entire bible)
