Our Pastor

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the departure of our pastor. We are thankful for the 10 years of ministry that Stephen Armstrong & Annette gave at Oak Hill Bible Church.  God is now leading Steve to plant a church in his hometown of San Antonio.

Oak Hill Bible Church is now searching for a new pastor. We appreciate your introductions and leads as well as your prayers for Steve and OHBC as we go through these changes.

Stephen Armstrong

Senior Pastor

Stephen Armstrong became a believer in Jesus Christ in his early 30s and responded to a calling to learn God’s word, teach, and pastor.

As he devoted himself to study, Stephen developed a love for an in-depth, verse-by-verse style of teaching God’s word, believing it to be the best means to persuade the unbeliever of the truth of the Gospel and equip the saints for the work of ministry (Rom 10:17; Eph 4:14-15).

Every detail of every question in life is here in the Bible. God will reveal His truth to you every time you open yourself to desiring His will in your life.

In 2001, Stephen received God’s call to move to San Antonio, Texas, where he soon found opportunities to teach and preach verse-by-verse in churches throughout the area. Despite having no professional religious training, Stephen was called by God to lead a church-planting effort in the city as pastor of Living Word Fellowship.

He has participated in church plants and founded Verse By Verse Ministry of San Antonio (www.vbvmi.org).

Steve is also currently teaching the 9:00 Adult Bible Class on Sunday mornings at OHBC. Recent sermons on our current Scripture series are found here and on Verse by Verse Ministry International.

Annette Armstrong, his wife, participates in work and service at OHBC as well as other ministries in San Antonio where they live.  And, yes, they commute to Austin every week!
