Our Pastor

The OHBC family is excited to announce the arrival of our new pastor, Michael Goacher and his wife Chelsy.  Michael will continue the legacy of verse by verse teaching method established at OHBC by our former pastor Stephen Armstrong.

Please pray for Michael & Chelsy as they face the difficulties of moving from California to Texas in February.

Pastor Michael Goacher & Chelsy

Pastor Michael Goacher has a passion for loving God and loving people by making disciples of Jesus.

“I love helping people grow in their relationship with God by encountering Him through the teaching of His Word.”

What’s your role at Oak Hill Bible Church?
I work with our team of elders to provide direction for the church and it’s ministries and serve the flock by preaching, teaching and equipping others to serve in the ministry God has designed them for.

What’s your family like?
My sweet wife Chelsy is from California and we were married in 2013. God has blessed us with two busy children, Gabriel (2 1/2) and Everly (1), who naturally like to keep us on our toes.

What do you do for fun?
These days my wife and I enjoy simple things like being outdoors and taking our children to playgrounds and watching them explore God’s world. We also like having relaxing evenings with family and friends or catching up on episodes of The Voice or Fixer Upper.

What’s your ministry experience and education background?
Even though I was born and raised in Texas, I wasn’t raised in the church and actually had an aversion to anything related to God until he revealed himself to me and saved me by his grace when I was 19. Since then, God has led me to grow and serve him in various capacities. I’ve served in urban ministry, youth ministry, singles ministry, and after serving as a Lead Pastor in Orange County, California for over twelve years, I’m excited God opened the door for me to return to Austin and serve as the Pastor of Oak Hill Bible Church. I attended University of Texas at Austin for a Bachelor’s of Science in Speech Communication, Dallas Theological Seminary for a Master’s in Christian Education and Talbot School of Theology at Biola University for my Doctorate in Ministry with a focus on discipleship.
